Washington, DC coding meetups

Thinkful's weekly meetups aren't limited to our web development and data science bootcamp students. Anyone who wants to learn to code can attend the workshops and events available in several locations around the city. Our main locations are set in downtown D.C. and the Dulles Tech Corridor. Free events are hosted each week and are geared toward all types of developers - those just starting to learn how to code, intermediate coders, and seasoned developers looking to get career advice. Workshops focus on topics like JavaScript and HTML/CSS while our tech talks cover important topics like building extensive portfolios and choosing your first programming language.

Once you’re enrolled in our program, you’ll also have access to our monthly dinners. While our course is fully accessible online, these monthly events will allow students and mentors to meet in person and work through the web development bootcamp or data science bootcamp curricula together. You'll have the opportunity to meet fellow students, network with local mentors, and pair program together live.

Dulles Technology Corridor

Washington, DC Tech Scene

Although mostly known for its prominent role in government, Washington D.C. has become a tech hub for well-funded startups like Venga and Ruck.us, not to mention home to 15 Fortune 500 companies. Both startups and more established companies are growing their tech teams, which is leading to an increase in tech jobs throughout D.C. and surrounding areas. Washington had the most tech jobs open of any US city in 2015, with salaries soaring to meet the demands of qualified workers.

In order to meet this demand for developer talent, several DC-based coding bootcamps have been launched to help students learn how to code and prepare them for technical jobs. Of the available options, Thinkful is the only coding bootcamp that guarantees you a job as a web developer and has outcome stats audited by a third-party for full transparency and accuracy.

Key Features

Convenience and support beyond the local options.

Online

Whether you take the Flexible or Full Time course, you don’t need to waste time and money commuting back and forth to an in-person classroom. You’re free to learn wherever is most convenient for you.

1-on-1 support

In the 1980s, a landmark education study demonstrated that students who learn 1-on-1 perform better than 98% of students who learn in traditional classrooms. Work directly with an expert mentor to accelerate your learning.

Job guarantee

What if you learn to code, graduate from Thinkful, and hustle in your job search, but still don’t end up getting hired? That’s exceedingly rare, but if it happens, that’s our failure, not yours… we should pay for it, not you.

Verified job stats

Education is built on trust. Being transparent about how students perform so that you can make the right decision is absolutely essential.
