Carl is a self-taught, full-stack web developer. He began using Python back in 2009, mainly for scripting cloud services, and is especially familiar with Google App Engine. He has extensive experience of browser technologies, is a big fan of jQuery, and a bit of a CoffeeScript evangelist. As a freelancer, Carl has personally led development of commercial applications, and has also published a couple of pretty cool, open source projects. He often claims to have developed the first HTML5 shell, but no one else is quite sure what that means. With a broad knowledge of the latest browser technology, and a deep understanding of Python and modern server programming, Carl is most at home working on web apps and cloud services. He once made a living as a graffiti writer, but preferred coding because "you get to make worlds".
