Rui is a computer scientist invested in bringing the best of nature into computation. He specialises in Evolutionary Computation, in particular biologically inspired representations for evolutionary algorithms. In the last ten years he has worked as a software engineer, researcher, and teaching assistant. He has participated in the full-cycle of the software development, in software maintenance projects, and in R&D projects. When he is not focused on how to replicate biological mechanisms in algorithms, you may hear the low frequencies of his tuba, or find him watching F1 or animated series.
