Exception for Technology Fundamentals: students require only basic computer skills.
What computer equipment do I need to get started?
Chegg Skills programs are fully online - there are no physical classrooms or in-person requirements. You can learn from anywhere with a reliable internet connection!
Some programs can be accessed on a smartphone or tablet for limited activities (such as reviewing content, participating in discussions, or watching lessons). However, not all programs can be completed entirely on a mobile device.
For the best learning experience, and for programs that require software installation or hands-on technical work, you will need access to a computer that meets the following requirements:
A computer with a microphone, speakers, and webcam
Reliable high-speed internet access
At least 16GB RAM, 2.0 GHz processor, and 256GB of storage
Ability to download and install required software (Chromebooks are not supported)
Headphones are strongly recommended
Macs must be running the latest OS
PCs must use Windows 10 or newer, or a current Linux operating system
Chegg Skills does not provide computers - all learners must have personal access to a computer that meets the above requirements if required by their program.
Data Analytics: Learners will eventually need to purchase Microsoft Excel.
AI Prompt Engineering: Learners will eventually need to purchase an individual ChatGPT subscription using a personal email address.
What support does Chegg Skills offer students during the program?
Unlike other Chegg Skills programs, AI short-form certificate programs can be expected to be completed in 2-3 months. Due to this, students will have access to our live chat and AI-based chatbot, SkillMate, to get answers to study-related questions in real-time.
How can I be a successful Chegg Skills student?
Chegg Skills programs are focused on career outcomes. We expect our students to put in the time necessary to complete the work and move consistently through the content and assignments. Successful students show curiosity and focus. They put themselves in the mindset of the technical professional they aim to become. They regularly access and use all of the resources and support provided, are willing to try and fail and try again, and are driven to build skills that can change their lives.
How are programs kept up to date?
Chegg Skills collects frequent feedback from students and staff on the program curriculum, projects, and overall student experience to evaluate the quality of each program. In addition to student experience, Chegg Skills also considers industry demand for particular skill sets and success rates with each program in order to look for areas of improvement, ensuring that each program has successful outcomes that match the Chegg Skills mission of delivering skills-based, career-focused outcomes on a quarterly basis.
