This course offers start dates once a month. Submit your application through Guild to reserve your spot. On the start date, you'll study on your own schedule and will be expected to complete 10 hours of lessons per week. You'll be held to interim milestones so you can graduate with a certificate of completion.

You'll start by picking up foundational IT skills. Then, learn the most current, proven techniques to protect businesses from cyber attacks and security threats.

Combine all your new skills into a final capstone project with the support of expert help from your mentor. You’ll showcase your ability to identify and respond to a cyber attack and build your confidence as a Cybersecurity professional.
Upon successfully completing this certificate, you could earn transfer college credit for eligible degrees from select institutions. Learn more about Thinkful’s credit recommendation through the American Council on Education (ACE©).

Admission to any Thinkful program is subject to the following qualifications:
Students must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
Students must have proof of high school diploma or equivalent (GED), or a diploma from an institution of higher education accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Thinkful will accept an attestation of the proper educational requirements.
Exception for Data Science: students must have a Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) to enroll in this program.
Students must be proficient in written and spoken English.
Students must demonstrate the ability to manage their time, communicate effectively with others, and accept constructive criticism.
Students must complete coursework on a computer. See below for technical specifications for the equipment needed.
Students are expected to demonstrate operating proficiency on a computer.
Exception for Technology Fundamentals: students require only basic computer skills.
Thinkful does not have any physical classrooms or locations, as all our programs are entirely online. There is no physical campus, and you aren’t required to attend any in person events. However, our programs do require a computer with a microphone, speakers, webcam, and high-speed internet access.
Your computer must be available and ready to use prior to the first day of class. We do not provide you with a computer, and every student must own or have access to a personal computer with at least 16GB RAM, at least 2.0 GHz processor, and at least 256 GB HD. Additionally, the computer must be able to download and install applications and software; computers like Chromebooks will not work. You cannot complete Thinkful programs on a smartphone or tablet.
Headphones are highly recommended. Macs must have the most current OS version installed, and PCs must be using either Windows 10 (or newer Windows operating systems) or a current version of a Linux operating system.
For the Data Analytics program only, students will eventually be required to purchase Excel.

Within Thinkful, regardless of the program you choose, you’ll have access to:
1:1 Mentorship -- you’ll be assigned a mentor who's focused on helping you understand the material and excel in the program.
Technical coaches via ThinkChat and/or Office Hours -- in addition to technical coaching and office hours sessions, our virtual messaging platform means you can get answers to study-related questions in real time.
The minimum requirements to serve as a mentor, technical expert, or faculty for all Thinkful programs include:
3+ years of relevant industry experience
Demonstration of genuine student advocacy and empathy for beginners
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Mentors are assigned by Thinkful based on fit and availability.

Yes. Thinkful’s Cybersecurity Certificate recently received a recommendation from the American Council on Education’s (ACE©) Credit Recommendation, which is the industry standard for translating workplace learning to college credit. Learners can earn a recommendation of 9* college credits for completing this program. This aims to help create additional pathways to learners who are interested in pursuing higher education and a career change.

To share proof of completion with schools, certificate graduates will receive an email with the process to request and receive their Thinkful transcript.
